We’re Hiring Misfits Who Burn on Their Own

W

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been actively talking to people for potential roles from engineers, builders, designers.
And I’ve noticed a pattern that I can’t ignore.

Too many people open the conversation with:

“I’m looking for a 15–30% salary bump from my last job.”

That’s an instant red flag.
The moment you start with compensation, I lose interest.

Another one I hear often: completely unrealistic salary expectations and numbers that make no sense for an early-stage startup. It’s a shame, because I actually know what you’re being paid. I’ve got friends across every country in the world, and I’m a single message away from understanding what’s fair and what’s not.

If your plan is to 2x or 3x your salary hoping you’ll get lucky, this isn’t your place.

Because here’s the truth and we’re not building for comfort.
We’re building for impact.

The Kind of People I’m Looking For

I’m looking for people who’d say:

“I’m willing to take a cut because I’ll have full ownership, freedom, and the chance to build something massive.”

People who want to build, not maintain.
People who prefer meaning over money.
People who burn on their own.

If you truly believe in what we’re doing, then taking a pay cut for equity and ownership won’t scare you but it’ll energize you.
If that doesn’t resonate, this is the wrong fit.

You’ll fit right in if you:

  1. Want full ownership — you don’t need to be managed.
  2. Value freedom — work wherever, whenever; we trust you.
  3. Thrive in startup chaos — building and shipping nonstop.
  4. Want to shape the culture, the product, and the trajectory.
  5. Believe in work ethic over comfort — you’ll pull hour long sprints when it matters.
  6. Think long-term — company first, compensation second.
  7. Love war sprints — pushing through intensity to create something great.
  8. Enjoy async work — no daily syncs, just responsibility.
  9. Prefer ESOPs over inflated salaries — take what you need, build what you’ll own.
  10. Understand that startup life is brutal. It’s not romantic. It’s hard, chaotic, and painful.

If you’ve worked in marketing, fintech, financial services or if you’re an ex-founder and that’s a huge plus. You already know what it means to operate without a safety net.

If you don’t ask about ESOPs, we’re not a fit.

How We Operate

We run on a simple idea which is freedom with accountability.

You want to work Sunday? Great.
You want to take Thursday off? Go ahead.
No approvals. No questions. You’re an adult.

We don’t track hours; we track results.
We don’t have daily standups; we work 100% async.
We ship daily. If something breaks, we fix it.
We run weekly cycles, and when we’re in “war mode,” everyone digs in.

There’s no hierarchy here. No bosses.
Just exceptional individual contributors who care deeply about building.

We operate like a high-performance sports team, not a family.

What We’re Building

Our mission is simple but powerful:

To empower people and families with sound financial advice through financial advisors.

We’re building the rails that enable real people to make smarter financial decisions and not abstract dashboards or vanity tools. Every decision we make directly affects how families manage, invest, and plan their futures.

This isn’t just technical work. It’s human work.

The Culture That Drives Us

We believe in velocity and the kind that scares most people.
See a problem? Fix it tonight.

We believe in ownership and if it’s broken, you own it.
No one hides behind titles.

We believe in freedom unlimited time off, total autonomy, and zero micromanagement.

But with that freedom comes intensity.
You can’t hide here.
You either build, or you don’t.

This isn’t a place for balance.
It’s a place for breakthroughs.

We don’t compete with FAANG companies or other business on salary.
We compete on vision, ownership, velocity and above all an adventure of a lifetime.

Who This Is NOT For

  • This is not a traditional job.
  • We are equity-first and not salary-first.
  • You’re juggling multiple jobs or looking for part-time work.
  • You think this will feel like a large corporate job and it’s 100x harder.
  • Money is your primary motivation.
  • You’re here for a salary bump.
  • You want comfort more than challenge.

Our Hiring Process

We move fast from first chat to offer in under 7 days.

  1. Step 1: Fill out the application form → Apply here
  2. Step 2: A 10-minute conversation with me. We’ll talk honestly about the company, your motivations, and if there’s alignment.
  3. Step 3: Technical Interview (Live). Two problems, no take-homes, no AI assistance.
    • Solve both well, you move fast.
    • Semi-solve with help? You might still pass.
  4. Step 4: Founder Fit Call.
I’ll try to talk you out of joining.
If that scares you off, that’s okay; this life isn’t for everyone.
But if that excites you even more, then you’re probably one of us.
  5. Step 5: Reference Checks
We require five reference checks and a mix of current and previous employers, colleagues, and people you’ve shipped real projects with. We want to understand how you operate under pressure, collaborate, and deliver.

Why This Matters

We’re here to build something that outlives us.
We want to empower millions through better financial advice, and the way to do that is by assembling a team that’s obsessed and not comfortable.

I’m not looking for employees.
I’m looking for believers.

People who already burn with intensity.
People who don’t need permission.
People who will bet on themselves and this mission, even when it’s hard and especially when it’s hard.

Because this is hard.
Relentless. Unforgiving.
And unbelievably worth it.

If that sounds like you,
If you build without being told,
If you want to help shape something real.

Your Next Step

If everything you just read resonates with you the intensity, the ownership, the equity-first mindset, the chaos, the mission. Please proceed with the technical task, if you don’t have reach out to barot@spacesos.com

If you’re not aligned, no worries then this just isn’t the right environment.
We only want people who feel a deep pull toward this way of working and building.
